Project 888Ship's Cook Third Class William Koegler was a twin brother to Seaman First Class Albert Koegler. William and Albert had come on board USS Indianapolis CA-35 on September 1, 1943. Both men were serving on board Indianapolis when the ship was sunk on July 30, 1945. Both men enlisted in 1943 when they were seniors in Wyoming High School and both were graduated in absentia. They leave a brother, Henry and a sister, Mrs. Eleanor Hossack.
