Dear Capt. McVay
Just dropping you a few lines to say thank you for your nice letter. I'm sorry I didn't write sooner
but I'm just going around in circles. I believe you understand sir, how I feel.
Now too I don't know what to write about. I received a letter from Farragut Idaho saying they have
some personal belongings of my husband Geo. Massier. But I don't know what they have because all of
his clothes were on ship. Will let you know whatever it is.
I would like a list of names & addresses of all the boys who were picked up. So if you could
sent them to me because I would sure like to see if there were any of our friends alive. So try and help
me out, won't you?
It is sure hard to take because Geo. was the most adorable husband any woman could ever have. I sure
will miss him as the time goes by. I just can't believe it yet.
Sunday Nov 18 I'm having memorial mass in honor of George.
There isn't much to write about because I just can't think clearly as yet. Hoping to hear from you soon.
I remain your friend.
As ever
Mrs. Florence Massier
My address is Mrs. Florence Massier
1332 Dearborn Ave.
Aurora, Ill.
Hope to be able to recognize some names on the list.
Thank you so much. I just can't make sense at all.
