Project 888Seaman Second Class Paul Gottmann, son of Mrs. Lena Gottmann joined the Navy with his first cousin (Ralph Priestle, son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Priestle) in February 1944. The two men remained together until the end. Paul attended Vocational High School before joining the Navy.
